SS13 Afterlight Season Overview

Read SS13 through Terra Skills, Spell Burst, channeling, evasion, Deflection, Bond minions, Nether King's Divinity, and Afterlight farming gates.

This site focuses on system understanding and decision support; for season, build, or budget-sensitive advice, check the page date and current version context.

First check whether old habits still work

The official English name for SS13 is Afterlight. The biggest trap this season is not missing a new hero. It is applying old season habits directly to the new version: Dream Interpretation is removed, Dream Talking drops are removed, Boss rush, Compass routes, and several older rewards are reduced, and channeling-related builds also change. Pre-launch player concerns are mostly around those questions: what happens to old pets, whether old routes still work, and whether the starter should move to the new hero.

This page does not copy the patch notes. It pulls out the parts that affect league start, build choice, and farming value. Live values and economy can still change the final answer, but at season start you should know which assumptions need re-checking.

New season redemption codes

Try these two codes around season launch:

  • TLNIGHT
  • torchcon2026

Codes usually have time limits and may be enabled by batch or platform. Check them in game early and claim them if they work, instead of coming back after you have already started farming.

SS13 is not only a new hero patch. It is a season-wide reshuffle around soul-lamps, Terra Skills, Bond minions, Nether King's Divinity, and higher difficulty farming gates.

Find the right focus first

What you are doing Main judgement Read next
Starting progression Avoid leaning on Afterlight before K7; K8-1 can be a stop; do not camp K8-2 SS13 League Start
Replanning farming Deep Space needs efficiency and Drop Pactspirit support, or U8 may be better SS13 Farming Drops
Trying Selena Paid hero unlock, new-mechanic cost, and Terra Skill side effects matter SS13 Terra Skills
Returning with Spell Burst / channeling "Activate" becoming "consume" changes triggers, and Entanglement has speed cost SS13 Channeling And Spell Burst
Dexterity defense feels weak Good evasion value is not enough; check Deflection, cap, recovery, and DoTs SS13 Evasion And Deflection
Playing Mechanist or minions Minion ailment immunity is only the base; Bond access, gain speed, and survival matter more SS13 Bond Minions
Touching Nether King's Divinity Treat it as extra growth early; do not let sockets and projections delay basics SS13 League Start

Terra Skills suit players willing to test new mechanics

Selena's base trait makes core Terra Skills cast around the player and follow the player, while non-core Terra Skills cannot deal damage. That restriction is heavy. Do not read her as "any Terra Skill gets stronger." She asks you to rebuild around one core Terra Skill.

If you just want a stable start, do not pick Selena blindly only because she is the season push. The new hero requires a paid unlock, new skills need development, and Activation Medium: Terra brings side effects such as sealed resource and movement speed penalty. The real question is whether you are willing to pay that testing cost during league start.

To judge whether the new hero is a good starter, check:

  1. Whether Terra Charge feels smooth enough.
  2. Whether the main skill keeps coverage on moving monsters and bosses.
  3. Whether self-damage, sealing, slowdowns, and Spell Burst consumption can be handled.

Do not make Afterlight the main farm too early

Afterlight gameplay is the season mechanic, so its rewards should not be worthless. But during progression, do not make it the main route too early. Before K7, Afterlight may slow leveling and the drops are unlikely to surprise you. It is better to learn the rules first, then decide whether to build around it after you can enter higher difficulty reliably.

The real comparison later is:

  1. Whether Wraith monster waves slow down map time.
  2. Whether Afterlight exclusive drops have reached Moment 8 or Deep Space gates.
  3. Whether Drop Pactspirit support exists for the route.
  4. Whether the same time is better spent in U8, Deep Space, Compasses, or generic materials.

Where old builds can break

Spell Burst is the first trap. Many old lines changed from "when activating Spell Burst" to "when consuming Spell Burst." Builds that only cared about activation or maximum stacks may need to prove that their main skill actually consumes stacks.

Entanglement is the second trap. The maximum number of Entanglements changed from 6 to 4, and Activation Medium: Entanglement now has a movement speed penalty. Builds using active or inactive Entanglement counts for resistance cap or spell payoff need to recalculate both damage and feel.

Evasion and Deflection are the third. Evasion cap is now an attribute and the maximum cap is 75%. Deflection is clarified as consuming all current stacks when hit, with each stack reducing that damage by an additional 6%. Dexterity defense now needs cap, stack count, and uptime checks, not just raw evasion value.

Minions are the fourth. Minion ailment immunity is a real upgrade, but many minion bonuses now live behind Bond access, Bond gain speed, or Bond maximum stacks. Old minion builds do not automatically inherit every new benefit. If minions cannot survive in high difficulty, Bond stacks also become unstable.

Treat Nether King's Divinity lightly at first

Nether King's Divinity looks like a major midgame and endgame growth system: socket color, Nether King's Broken Divinity, complete Nether King's Divinity, fixed talent points, Ultimate Nether King Talent Nodes, and projection to adjacent Divinity Slate tiles all matter.

For early league play, it is safer to read it like this:

  • Use Nether King's Broken Divinity to learn the socket and special-effect rules.
  • Use complete Nether King's Divinity later when locking one key socket matters.
  • Judge Ultimate Nether King Talent Nodes after real routes and prices settle.

A standalone Nether King's Divinity page should wait for stable examples instead of becoming a copied rule sheet.

How to use this cluster

If you are entering SS13, start with League Start and Farming Drops.
If you want to play Selena, go to Terra Skills.
If you are bringing back an old build, check Channeling And Spell Burst, Evasion And Deflection, and Bond Minions.
